Word Power should be admired for taking on the plateau effect (e.g. Harmer 2001:44), that is for trying to defy the law of diminishing returns that so often hampers the progress of post-intermediate and advanced learners of English. It is also obvious that a lot of thought and careful research has gone into the selection of phrasal verbs, their semantic analyses, the conceptual diagrams, the self-test exercises, the consolidation and revision sections, and so on.
