Maloof is a third-generation Southern Californian who grew up making mud pies in/with the dirt from a lemon grove that got plowed under and excavated to make way for the eight-lane freeway known as The 210. She attended Chaffey College, transferred to UC Santa Cruz and earned her MFA from Claremont Graduate University. In 2023 the remainder of Maloof's student loans were forgiven by the Biden/Harris administration; this provided more elation than any advanced degree. Her practice spans a wide range of media wherein connecting threads include humor, language, and cultural commentary. Maloof teaches drawing, plays guitar and sings in the rock duo Falcon Eddy.
