OverviewManufacturing today is undergoing a profound transformation as digital integration reshapes how products are designed and produced. At the center of this shift is STEP-NC, an advanced data model that unifies computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and numerical control into a seamless workflow. Unlike traditional code-based systems, STEP-NC enables richer communication of design and process knowledge directly to machine tools, reducing information loss. By bridging the long-standing gaps between design, planning, and execution, STEP-NC represents a critical step toward smarter and more adaptive manufacturing systems. Transforming Manufacturing With STEP-NC: Computer-Aided Design, Computer-Aided Manufacturing, and Numerical Control explores how digital manufacturing is unifying the traditional processes of computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and numerical control into a seamless workflow. It examines the impact of integrating STEP-NC across manufacturing operations. Covering topics such as manufacturing, computer engineering, and design systems, this book is an excellent resource for business organizations, software developers, engineers, academicians, researchers, and graduate students.
