OverviewThis book analyzes human trafficking in Latin America, a phenomenon that constitutes one of the most serious human rights violations in the region. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the book examines the current dynamics of this crime, its emerging modalities and the structural factors that facilitate it. It identifies the main gaps in the existing regulatory and institutional frameworks, highlighting the inadequacy of traditional responses. The research provides empirical data on victim profiles, recruitment strategies and trafficking routes, complemented by comparative jurisprudential analysis. The work addresses the psychosocial impact on victims and recovery and reintegration mechanisms. Finally, it proposes a set of comprehensive public policies adapted to the Latin American context, organized along the axes of prevention, prosecution and protection, with emphasis on inter-institutional coordination, specialized training and international cooperation. This proposal seeks to significantly transform the state and social response to this scourge.
