“Along with having his protagonist grapple with issues of trust and impending change, Brooks models healthy interrelationships in this sequel; his young people and parents speak frankly about their concerns and feelings, show sincere care for others, and are willing to apologize for social miscues . . . . The end brings satisfaction as well as the promise of more “interesting things” in Ethan’s future.” —Booklist
