In the midst of the turmoil, Brannigan returns to China for a hush-hush assignment at Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydroelectric facility. THOMAS V. HARRIS lives on Mercer Island a few miles east of Seattle, and on Highland Lake in Bridgton, Maine. A native New Yorker, he graduated from Harvard College with a degree in political science, and from Cornell Law School with a specialization in International Law.
