Overview

There's a Chicken in My Backpack was inspired by a true event when a secretary of an elementary school had a student bring an actual chicken in her backpack that she ""rescued"" from someone's yard. It's a playful work of fiction of what might have happened if the chicken had made it past the front office. The first in Karalee's backpack series, contains a creative rhyming cadence and fun events before the child realizes it's probably time to go call mom.

Karalee Fogg is a mother, grandmother, educator, writer, and journalist. Growing up in Delta, Utah, her adventures sparked a creative imagination, where there's always a story to be written. She has a profound passion for books and loves reading adventures to her children and sharing the magic of storytelling. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Special Education and currently works at Old Mill Elementary, where she's inspired by young readers every day. She resides in Lake Point, Utah, with some of the greatest humans on earth. Although she's written stories for over twenty years, There's a Chicken in My Backpack is her first published children's book. Cambree Fogg is an inspiring artist who can bring stories to life in the most endearing way. From a young age, Cambree had a vivid imagination and love for drawing that couldn't be contained. Growing up in Lake Point, Utah, she spent countless hours doodling, dreaming, and creating. Cambree loves to spark imagination and joy in young readers. She is especially excited to present this book alongside her mother--her greatest supporter and cheerleader. Cambree currently resides in Provo, Utah where she is pursuing a masters degree at Brigham Young University.
