"Tom Alesia won the national Music Journalism Award for two feature articles about the Fendermen, a one-hit wonder with their 1960 rockabilly cover of country legend Jimmie Rodgers' ""Mule Skinner Blues."" He also was a finalist for the award and earned four first-place honors, including two for arts criticism, from the American Association of Feature Editors. His writing has appeared in newspapers nationwide, TV Guide magazine and the book ""Tasty Morsels,"" a short fiction anthology. Find his work at TomWriteTurns.com. A 35-time marathon finisher and a cancer survivor since 1998, he lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with his wife, Susan. They have a son, Mark."
