Author Information

Ilona Z. Chkhotua is an Associate Professor in the Economic and Financial Strategy Department at Lomonosov Moscow State University’s Moscow School of Economics, Russia. Dr. Chkhotua has a second higher education degree in the specialty of jurisprudence from Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (now Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics), Russia. She holds a PhD in Economic Sciences and an MBA degree. She also has a second higher education in the specialty of jurisprudence (Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (now Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics). She is the author of scientific papers in leading economic peer-reviewed journals as well as five monographs devoted to the issues of sectoral strategizing. Dr. Chkhotua has experience in consulting and auditing (PWC Russia), in marketing and research department in a large food industry manufacturing company. She is a member of the editorial board of the journal of the international peer-reviewed journal Strategizing: Theory and Practice. Dr. Chkhotua is one of the authors of the 9-volume monograph Strategy of Kuzbass, which was awarded the All-Russian Public Prize “Economic Book of the Year–2022” and also the winner of “Economic Book of the Year -2024,” organized by the Free Economic Society of Russia (VEO) in the special nomination category “Development of Russian regions: scientific analysis and current solutions.” Together with Anna V. Sadovnichaya, Associate Professor at the Department of Economic and Financial Strategy, she developed the authors’ course “Strategizing the tourism and trade show industries in the Russian Federation.” Dr. Chkhotua is actively involved in the development of regional, national, corporate, and sectoral strategies. She has received Russian and foreign awards for her role in developing and implementing practical strategies. Her research interests include strategizing the tourism and trade show industries development, regional strategies, developing the marketing strategy of destination, spatial territorial planning of tourism development. Anna V. Sadovnichaya is Deputy Director General of Expocentre JSC (Moscow) and a member of the Educational and Methodological Committee of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF). In 2019, she defended her PhD thesis in Economics on the topic “Theoretical Foundations and Methodology of Strategizing in the Exhibition and Trade Fair Industry (Based on Industrial Exhibitions).” Dr. Sadovnichaya is the recipient of the Diploma and the First-Class Badge of Honor of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Together with Ilona Z. Chkhotua, Associate Professor of the Economic and Financial Strategy Department, she developed the authors’ course “Strategizing the tourism and trade show industries in the Russian Federation.” She is the author of scientific papers in leading economic peer-reviewed journals, including six books, and 11 educational courses, and has participated in several research projects on strategic planning and development. She has received Russian and foreign awards for her role in developing and implementing practical strategies. Dr. Sadovnichaya is one of the authors of the 9-volume monograph “Strategy of Kuzbass”, which was awarded the All-Russian Public Prize “Economic Book of the Year–2022.” Her professional and academic interests include the strategizing of exhibition and tourism industries, regional and sectoral development, and the integration of strategic tools into real-world business practices. Lyudmila I. Vlasyuk is an Associate Professor at the Economic and Financial Strategy Department at Lomonosov Moscow State University’s Moscow School of Economics. She has published more than 90 scientific papers in leading domestic and foreign economic peer-reviewed journals. She was directly involved in writing the 99-volume monograph “Strategy of Kuzbass”, which was awarded the All-Russian Public Prize “Economic Book of the Year–2022.” Dr. Vlasyuk has experience in senior positions in the structures of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She has taken part in carrying out scientific research commissioned by federal and regional authorities and foundation grants (Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation, Russian Foundation for Basic Research), including in the status of project manager. The author has more than 25 years of teaching experience at leading Russian universities, including authors’ courses for masters and postgraduates: “Quantitative methods in strategizing” and “Strategizing the spatial development of the Russian economy.” Actively involved in the development of regional, national, corporate, and sectoral strategies, she has received Russian and foreign awards for her role in developing and implementing practical strategies. Her research interests include strategizing spatial development, regional strategies, mathematical modeling of strategizing processes, the effects of strategy implementation, and digital transformation strategy. Anna S. Khvorostyanaya is an Associate Professor at the Economic and Financial Strategy Department at Lomonosov Moscow State University’s Moscow School of Economics and a leading researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies at the Institute of Mathematical Research of Complex Systems under Lomonosov Moscow State University. She is also an Associate Professor at the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property, Kemerovo State University, and at Shanghai University, China. Dr. Khvorostyanaya reads the courses “Theory and Methodology of Brand Strategy,” “Theory and Methodology of Creative Industries Strategy,” “Strategic Marketing,” and “Strategic Management.” Also she is a participant of the interdisciplinary scientific and educational school of Lomonosov Moscow University’s Mathematical Methods of Analysis of Complex Systems. She has more than 90 scientific papers in leading domestic and foreign economic peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the editorial board of the international peer-reviewed journal Strategizing: Theory and Practice. She has 10 years of experience in management positions in various economic spheres, and today heads the Strategic Marketing Department at the Agranta Group (strategic national leader of the agro-industrial complex). Dr. Khvorostyanaya is actively involved in the development of regional, national, corporate, and sectoral strategies. Her research interests include theory of fashion-strategizing process; creative economy and technology transfer strategizing process. Both in Russia and in abroad, Dr. Khvorostyanaya has been awarded for her participation in development and implementation of practical strategies.
