Overview

Armmie Charon, a struggling copy editor, receives a once-in-a-lifetime scholarship to attend a university of her choosing. But to receive the scholarship, Armmie must read and report on one hundred books chosen by the elusive scholar and heiress, Alton Von Tyner, while staying at Alton's manor house. Between reading, writing, wining, and dining, Alton's insistence on keeping their relationship strictly professional drives Armmie mad. Armmie's studies are interrupted as she is seduced by the world of the British intellectual elite and their lavish parties, even when they are a little out of touch. To complicate matters further, Alton seems to be a little more interested in Armmie than she is letting on. But deep within the halls of the manor resides a dark secret that Alton has forbidden Armmie from investigating at all costs. Can Armmie respect Alton's wishes, or will her desire to learn more about the moody academic destroy them both?
