OverviewThe mystical is making its way into the mainstream once more - our cultural craving for all things transcendent, mysterious, sacred and spiritual is taking centre stage. And that's a great thing. At least, Belle Tindall-Riley, a Gen Z, Christian academic thinks so. Not only does she believe that those cravings for the supernatural are good, but that they're the truest thing about us all. In The Sacred Ache, Belle takes a read of this cultural moment; exploring the spiritual practices that are making their way into the mainstream and seeking to identify the soul-cravings that are fuelling them as well as the ways our culture is distorting them. She then puts the wildest, most mystical and soul-fulfilling aspects of Christianity on display for all to see. Rounding off by honestly and vulnerably explaining why Jesus fulfils every one of her spiritual longings, and then some. Table of ContentsReviews""The Sacred Ache opens up the deep, hidden and perhaps unexpected mysteries of the Christian path for a generation that may know little about it. Belle Tindall-Riley's book is accessible and entertaining, and always has its feet on the ground. By the end, though, you may find that ground shifting beneath you."" -- Paul Kingsnorth, author of Against The Machine ""Belle Tindall-Riley has achieved a rare feat. She has explained the profound beauty of the Christian faith, drawing in intellectual enquiry about God over many centuries, and presenting it in a fun and accessible - yet no less profound - way. The Sacred Ache will speak to the yearnings of a generation of young people who long for something more but have never had Christianity explained to them in a way that feels relevant. Funny, fascinating and tender, this book feels like a friend sitting down with a cup of tea to tell you the greatest story ever told."" -- Chine McDonald, writer, broadcaster and director of Theos ""Wise, witty and urgent, The Sacred Ache is a call to depth in a time of distraction. Belle’s erudition walks alongside her humanity, and the whole book crackles with excitement."" -- Martin Shaw, author, mythographer and wilderness rites-ofpassage guide Author InformationBelle Tindall-Riley (Author) Belle Tindall-Riley is a biblical scholar, writer, speaker, and podcaster.
