Within eight weeks of landing in the Hebrides he had raised a Highland army, taken Edinburgh without a shot being fired and defeated Johnnie Cope's Hanoverian army in a stunning Victory at Prestonpans. The completed work took 24 months to complete and in excess of 25,000 stitching hours. Andrew Crummy designed the tapestry in its entirety with Dorie Wilkie leading the stitchers.
