Overview

For more than fifty years, hundreds of strange and mysterious orbs (aka Earthlights) of various sizes and colors have been seen floating over fields, roads, and forests in northwest Alabama. Some are large and bright orange and others are smaller and red, blue or white. Some have been seen hovering near the ground, and some orbs are seen travelling above the trees. Some of these orbs seem to ""socially"" interact with other orbs. The first documented sighting took place in 1930. And even today, these mysterious and wondrous orbs are still being seen. These orbs are silent and can suddenly appear and disappear. Some orbs are 2-3 feet in diameter and some are as large as 8 feet in diameter. Some are in sight for just a few seconds and some for more than twelve minutes. One very active area is near the Cloverdale area. As recent as 2025, dozens of strange lights and other unexplained luminous phenomena have been reported by the local residents. Dr. Cox has spent several years investigating and researching this orb phenomenon. His first sighting took place east of Cloverdale back in 1977 when he and a friend observed a large amber orb floating over some trees a few miles east of Cloverdale. Prior to Wyatt's first sighting, people had reporting observing ""orangish"" orbs in northwest Alabama during the 1973 UFO flap. This book explores and examines this amazing enigma. This book not only documents many sightings by numerous witnesses but also examines possible theories that may help explain this enigma. Are these orbs merely the result of unusual natural processes? Are they electrically charged ""pockets"" of air produced by subterranean electrical energy produced by local seismic activity? Or is this orb phenomenon much more complex? Is it possible these orbs related to the orbs seen in Brown Mountain, North Carolina or those seen in Hessdalen, Norway? Is it possible these orbs are alive? Is there such a thing as a plasma-based life form? Why do these orbs exist or ""live"" in northwest Alabama? Is there an ""atmospheric lake"" where these orbs live? And do these orbs replicate or reproduce? Whatever these wondrous orbs are, they are truly an amazing mystery! This book (with photos) also offers a glimpse of Dr. Cox's personal Earthlight ""journey"" from 1977 to the present. He has interviewed credible witnesses and has personally observed more than 350 unidentified lights, luminous phenomena and orbs in northwest Alabama.
