Overview

Life in Coolum Beach is never boring for the Kuhlmann family. Despite occasional bouts of homesickness, they enjoy living in this Australian coastal town, especially since they have found great new friends among humans and dogs. But they are horrified when somebody discovers a body in a strange outfit. Why does the dead man wear a flipper on his right foot, more than a kilometre away from the nearest beach? The victim was a seventeen-year-old vegan, committed to animal welfare and nature conservation. Why was he killed? Coming across some creepy people, the Kuhlmanns are starting to feel a bit anxious. And somehow, they become entangled in dangerous events that are connected to the mysterious murder case.

Author Information

Marion Birkenbeil was born in Wuppertal, Germany in 1963. After working as a horticulturist and landscape gardener for many years, she studied landscape architecture. She immigrated to Australia in 1997 and lived in Brisbane for some time. Later, she and her husband (and their dog) moved to the Sunshine Coast. Marion is a self-employed landscape architect and became a registered member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects in 2007. Her novels reflect her love of nature and dogs. And although her books are fictional, she likes to include some real places and events. She hopes that her readers will enjoy her stories!
