The Legendarios Mythical Collected Set: Wrath of the Rain God; The Beginning of All Things; The Child King of Uxmal; The Heron Princess

Overview

Twins Emma and Martín use a magical book to travel into Mexican legends in these first four books in the Legendarios chapter book series that's Magic Tree House meets Heroes in Training--now available together in one shrink-wrapped paperback collection! When twins Emma and Martín move from Cuernavaca, Mexico to their new home in Chicago, they face a lot of changes all at once: a new home, a new country, new friends, and even new weather. To help with the transitions and remind them of where they came from, their abuela gives them a special going-away present--a magical book of Mexican legends. But this isn't just any ordinary book, and soon the twins discover that it can transport them into the stories! As the family's newest Legendarios, or legend travelers, Emma and Martín journey into the tales of the rain god Tlaloc, the giant deity Ometeotl, the child-king of Uxmal, and the princess Hapunda. Amid the exciting adventures, suspenseful moments, and tricky challenges they need to work through, the twins might just find that they're braver than they realized, and more ready to face their real-world trials than they ever expected. This magical paperback collection includes: Wrath of the Rain God The Beginning of All Things The Child King of Uxmal The Heron Princess

Author Information

Karla Arenas Valenti grew up in Mexico, a land of great myths and many legends. From a very young age, she loved getting lost in stories (and, in fact, she considers herself the very first Legendario). As a grown-up, she still loves getting lost in stories and is now creating adventures for readers to do the same. In addition to chapter books, Karla is the author of many picture books and middle grade novels. She currently lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, three kids, two cats, and hundreds of books. Vanessa Morales is a Mexican illustrator, kid lit artist, and concept artist with a deep love for portraying nature, fantasy, and daily life with a touch of magic. She has been working in different fields of illustration for almost ten years.
