OverviewFor music-lovers and music-creators alike, this book explores the resonance between music and meditation. Music has the power to move us; mantras can help us dive deep into our inner core to touch our own soul. Meditation on the heart chakra – the centre of love, the seat of the soul – and on the throat chakra – the centre of creative expression – can enhance the spiritual power of sound in our lives. Humanity has used music since time immemorial for celebrations, for community, for worship; but in our modern world, most people listen to music by professional musicians rather than making their own music. This book encourages everyone, regardless of musical ability, to experience the power of spiritual music, singing and chants. Silencing the mind through meditation is a steep challenge. But rather than trying to empty the mind, we can fill it with sound, with sacred songs and mantras that leave no room for mental chatter. The Inner Power of Sound: Music, Mantra and Meditation includes scores for some favourite songs, links to sites for Sri Chinmoy's music, and meditation techniques for music lovers and music creators. More than just reading about Sri Chinmoy's philosophy of music, it is meant to give readers the experience of the master's music. Practical meditation techniques include: opening the heart chakra deeply listening to music how the audience can become silent participants in a concert how to sweeten the voice overcoming stage fright some simple yet powerful mantras Full Product DetailsAuthor: Sri ChinmoyPublisher: The Golden Shore Verlagsgesellschaft mbH Imprint: The Golden Shore Verlagsgesellschaft mbH Dimensions: Width: 17.20cm , Height: 2.20cm , Length: 21.80cm Weight: 0.574kg ISBN: 9783895323874ISBN 10: 389532387 Pages: 168 Publication Date: 01 June 2024 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Hardback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: In Print This item will be ordered in for you from one of our suppliers.
