He lectured for over 40 years at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa, and the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. While at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, he headed the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology (1985 - 1991) and was also Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (1988 - 1992). He was the pioneer dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria (2010 – 2012). He has over 90 academic, research, and professional articles in journals and conference proceedings, with a Manual of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, 1996 (for the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, Abuja, Nigeria).Dr Olufunke D. Akin-Ajani is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, where she serves as the current Acting Head. She obtained her first degree (BPharm) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, and her MSc and PhD from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. She started her academic career at the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. She has been an academician/ researcher for over 2 decades and is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists.
