Author Information

Before transitioning to a professional writing career in 2016, Michael J. Coffino had two parallel careers: one in the courtroom, the other in the gymnasium. He was a business litigation and trial attorney and legal writing instructor for four decades and concurrently devoted twenty-five years as a basketball coach, primarily high school varsity, coaching girls' and boys' teams. He has authored or co-authored ten published works and ghostwritten as many, spanning both non-fiction and fiction. He coaches authors, teaches fiction and creative writing, and blogs regularly. Michael is currently adapting a prior published work for TV and writing his next two novels. Born and raised in the Bronx's Mott Haven and Highbridge neighborhoods, Michaelearned a BS in Education from the City University of New York and a JD from UC Berkeley School of Law. He plays guitar, holds a black belt in karate, is a workout junkie, and enjoys hiking and is an avid pickleball player, splitting his time between Marin County, California and Aspen, Colorado. He has two adult sons, both teachers and high school basketball coaches.
