Walter Carter (Nashville) is a songwriter, guitar historian, and author whose books include The Martin Book and various titles with George Gruhn: Gruhn's Guide to Vintage, Acoustic Guitars and Other Fretted Instruments and Electric Guitars and Basses. He worked as an official archivist at Gibson for many years. Walter currently works at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, TN.
