The first book revealed that the message of Jesus was a path of inner awakening. This second book reveals how that awakening is activated: through breathing. In the original Gospels, every time the word ""spirit"" appears, the Greek term is pneuma - meaning spirit, wind and breath simultaneously. When Jesus breathed on his disciples and said ""Receive the Holy Spirit"", he was not making a symbolic gesture. He was giving an instruction. This book connects that instruction with modern physiology - cardiac coherence, the vagus nerve, resonance frequency - and with the oldest Christian contemplative tradition: the Desert Fathers, hesychasm, the Philokalia, the prayer of the heart.
