Overview

This is a reference book on the 14 films of Boston Blackie, made between 1941 and 1949, starring Chester Morris. The book includes the films in date order, also providing complete cast lists, numerous photographs, running times, directorial credits, and a story synopsis for each production. Boston Blackie is a fictional character created by author Jack Boyle. Blackie, a safecracker jewel thief in Boyle's stories, became a detective in adaptations for films. Chester Morris played Horatio ""Boston Blackie"" Black in fourteen film between 1941 and 1949, as well as a radio series in 1944 for N.B.C. Richard Lane played Inspector Farraday, also in the radio series.
