Overview

Success is not a straight path. The Henderson family, with its tragedies, challenges and mistakes, is the perfect example. Tom dies in a mine explosion. His namesake dies young, but brother Preston survives, planting the seed for a brighter future. Preston's grandson, Hugh, rises from life in a cotton mill to become a successful cotton broker, investor and landowner. His son Bill follows in his footsteps. His dream of learning to fly is fulfilled and passed down to his son, Bob. But sadness is never far away. Hugh's beloved wife dies young. Bill's beautiful, selfish wife gives him children but leaves when he returns from World War II. Young Bob takes a life-altering action, then finds his calling as a doctor. His marriage, too, is ill-fated and leads to a shattering consequence. Will the Henderson men rise again? Follow the threads of their lives in ""The Cotton Broker's Son.""
