Reviews

Youngsters will enjoy this visually appealing account of the incidents leading up to the Boston Tea Party and the eventual revolution against England. This well-written resource is packed with sketches, maps, paintings, portraits and reproductions. It introduces readers to the key players (Governor Thomas Hutchinson, Samuel Adams, King George III) and the pivotal events (the Sugar and Stamp Acts, the formation of the Sons of Liberty, the Boston Massacre, the anti-tea movement) that resulted in the tea dumping raids in Boston on December 16, 1773. In addition to an effective visual presentation and informative the book also includes a glossary, a Did You Know? section, a timeline of important dates, a list of important people, a list of recommended books and web sites, a collection of useful addresses, and an index. Part of the We the People series.-- Children's Literature
