Decorative Arts Society Author InformationArt historian and curator, Dr Elizabeth Cumming is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, and a former Keeper of the Edinburgh City Art Centre and lecturer in design history at Edinburgh College of Art. She has written many catalogues and articles on nineteenth- and twentieth-century Scottish art and design. Her books include The Arts and Crafts Movement (with Wendy Kaplan, 1991) and Hand, Heart and Soul: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Scotland (2006). David Weir practised as a lawyer in Glasgow and London before moving to live and work in France. Since 2000, as Director of Dovecot Studios, he has devoted his time to re-energising and developing its artistic vision and activity. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, David Weir is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Weavers and currently sits on the Board of Creative Edinburgh.
