OverviewWhen devastating subduction earthquakes trigger offshore landslides, massive tsunamis roar across the coastline, obliterating homes, communities, and countless lives in a matter of hours. In one afternoon of terror, everything Antonia worked for vanishes beneath the waves. Homeless and heartbroken, she finds herself sleeping on pavement with her injured husband and other survivors, surrounded by rubble and despair. As she falls into a troubled sleep grieving for her lost family, she has a dream. It's unlike any dream she's ever experienced-vivid, and overwhelmingly real. She sees a world of breathtaking beauty, with rolling hills, crystal waters, clean air, colorful plant life, and endless possibility. The vision fills her with inexplicable peace and unshakeable conviction: this place exists, and somehow, she will go there. But is her dream a message from God, a glimpse of her future, or simply the desperate fantasy of a traumatized mind? As survival becomes a daily struggle and hope dims among the ruins, Antonia must decide whether to trust the impossible. Her dream speaks of a new world, a second chance, a place where families can rebuild and faith can flourish. But reaching it will require more than belief. It will demand everything she has left: her courage, her trust, and her willingness to leave behind the only world she's ever known. In the aftermath of catastrophe, her vision brings hope and the strength to move forward-if she's brave enough to follow it. Table of ContentsReviewsWhen you awake from a beautiful dream to the chaos and confusion of the recent destruction by earthquake and flood of your city, it is tempting to want to return to the dream. But for one dreamer, Antonia, she must survive in her waking nightmare...until she finds herself running for her life and right into a small delegation of other dreamers on their way to 'the dream'. This was a heartbreaking and delightful read. Much like our own daily lives, the characters find themselves faced with walking by faith or in fear. It is a decision we make over and over again. Using the format of science fiction the author weaves a story of future hope for humanity as they travel far into the galaxy to establish a newly discovered planet. This reader was enchanted by the picturesque descriptions of other worldly beauty, ingenuity of building and creating from raw resources, and myriad aspects of gardening, weaving, and many other crafts. If adventure, survival, community, friendship, and faith are what you enjoy in a book, I think you will love this one too. Karen Lopez Since this is a first novel from a new author I wasn't sure what to expect. It follows multiple characters on their journeys to the common goal of freedom. I think this book is best described as ""Pilgrims in space"". While I would consider it on the lighter end of the science fiction spectrum not all the science is imaginary there are facts. The story is set in a technologically advanced future but it felt very familiar and plausible. I kept thinking ""I wanted to apply to be a colonist too"". Like the original Pilgrims the characters in this book were religious but it came across as a unique lifestyle choice as apposed to being preachy. I actually found it interesting instead of off-putting. No one likes having someone else's viewpoint/agenda shoved in their face. All that said I think this author has a lot of raw talent and I'm looking forward to reading what she does with it. I enjoyed this book, I recommend this book and I'm definitely getting the next one in the series when it comes out. S. In Terra Colony Dreamers (Book 1 in The Terra Colony Project), first-time novelist Shimrit Hanes has done a beautiful and believable job building a story world. Set in the not-too-distant future, Hanes gives plausible circumstances that force a small population of earth to seek a new home -- off planet. United by a dream, the characters hope and plan for a better life for them and their children. A life without the mistakes earth has suffered from. I'm not a fantasy/futurist-type reader, but the believability kept me reading. And I'm glad I did! Terri Gillespie, Author, 11 books While this book is outside genres I normally read, I was curious. I was pulled in immediately to a scene happening in 2127. This book is futuristic science fiction that is filled with imagination and detail. It's quite an adventure to read this story. Science fiction readers especially may enjoy this book. There's also a lot of information given at the back of the book that is interesting. Nancy Kuykendall, Author, 31 books Author InformationOn the peaceful gulf coast of Florida, Shimrit Hanes crafts science fiction narratives that weave together survival wisdom and an imaginative world. She approaches her storytelling with the same dedication that has guided her through years of adventures, challenges, and creative pursuits. When not immersed in her fictional universe, Shimrit can be found tending to her acre of homestead land, coaxing vegetables from Florida sand, or formatting books for fellow authors. The jewelry she creates, like her stories, combine raw elements into something both beautiful and meaningful. Her science fiction works stand apart because they are full of practical wisdom drawn from decades of making do.Her travels in Asia, Central America, and the Middle East, and weathering hurricanes at home, she infuses her narratives with hard-won wisdom. This unique approach transforms entertainment into something more valuable-stories that might one day help readers navigate their own challenges.
