OverviewAs a resident (and trained beekeeper) living in the Village of Lynbrook, NY, my single residential beehive (with bees) was confiscated by the village in 2017, citing us for violating a Village code against harboring an ""infestation of insects, rodents, vermin or other pests."" My wife and I sued the Village in federal court for violation of our Fourth Amendment rights, over the course of seven years (through the middle of the pandemic), and won. In the settlement agreement, the defendants neglected to include a ""non-disclosure agreement"" or deny any culpability......so I decided I needed to write a tell-all, informative and entertaining book to tell the world about the reprehensible bullies we were up against and let everyone know that you don't have to let ""the man"" trample your civil rights unimpeded. The system is purposely set up to be expensive and cumbersome to the average person, but it can - and should - be done, and this is our story.
