She holds a Bachelor of Arts in pre-law, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. She holds a teaching certificate from the state of Louisiana that enables her to practice in the following areas: gifted and talented, mild/moderate, educational diagnostics, elementary grades 1-5, English grades 6-12, and educational leadership. She is also certified with the National Institute for School Leadership: Executive Development Program. Currently, she works full-time as a supervisor for a school board in a rural Louisiana school district, and she works part-time as an assistant professor for the University of Louisiana at Monroe teaching courses in the field of gifted education.
