First and foremost, you should know that the book was written with the intention that adults would read it to the children they love most. As the author, I ask that You silently read the book for Yourself before reading it with young and impressionable minds. If You do not believe that children are capable, kind, and courageous individuals, please leave this book on the shelf to be found when the child in your life is old enough to read it without Your interference. In this book, You will be expected to verbalize your love and support of the person that the child in Your life will grow into, as well as the person that they are now. Do not use my words to speak falsely to children. This book includes dangerous ideas, such as encouraging children to ask questions and come to their own conclusions. It also provides practical advice for impractical situations, such as quicksand and mermaid encounters. If You, as a grown up, are not prepared to talk about such dangers, please don't buy this book for Your children. If You have picked this book up as an adult, and you were a child who was told not to ask questions, or share your ideas, I'd like to congratulate YOU on your pseudo-adoption.
