In the year 2030, an interstellar asteroid enters the outer reaches of our solar system. Its appearance triggers the formation of SOLAR, a global defence programme stationed on Mars. But things never go according to plan... When the system designed to protect the Earth fails, the world erupts into chaos as the countdown for the arrival of the asteroid begins. For Aurora, her life gets turned upside down when her family receive tickets for bunker relocation. They must try and reach Inverness, navigating through a surge of riots, looting and natural disasters brought about by the asteroid. Meanwhile, Chidi is manically helping prepare the Inverness Bunker for the influx of new inhabitants. All he can do is stand by and watch as family after family get turned away from safety, while those chosen receive refuge. Over 140 million miles away is Alex. Not only did the SEIA IX crew fail to change Viatrix's path, but now they must sit and watch as the asteroid hurtles towards Earth.
