S. Praveenkumar obtained his BE Civil Engineering with Best outgoing student award from Sri Krishna college of Technology, ME Computer Methods and application in Structural Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. He completed PhD in civil engineering at Anna University, Chennai. He is recognized as supervisor for guiding PhD scholars of Anna University under faculty of Civil Engineering in the areas of Concrete Technology, Materials Characterization and Structural Engineering. He is the life time member of professional bodies such as Institution of Engineers, Indian Society for Technical education, Indian Concrete Institute, International Association of Engineers, Indian Society for Construction Materials and Structures, International Association for Automation and Robotics in construction, Indian Association for Computational Mechanics, Indian Association for Structural Engineering. He has published more than 35 papers in Scopus indexed journals as well as Journals listed in annexure-1 of Anna University with high impact factor. He has presented 27 papers in national and international conference organised by reputed institutions like IITs, NITs, Research labs etc. He has attended various FDP, Short term course, workshop and seminar organised by IITs, NITs. He received a grant of 2.75 lakhs from UGC, New Delhi under minor research project scheme for the period of 2017-2019 towards the project title “Synergic effect of agricultural wasters on mechanical properties of high-performance concrete”. He also has received grants from various government agencies such as CSIR, UGC, MoEs, etc. for organizing workshop, seminar. FDP and training programme to worth of 5 lakhs. He is institutional in setting up a laboratory named “Advanced Concrete Research Laboratory (ACRL)” at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore with advanced equipment’s to study the behavior of construction materials with respect to field applications. He is currently guiding 3 Full time and 2 Part time PhD scholar under Anna University, Chennai. He has guided 20 PG projects and 15 UG projects. He had various responsibilities in department level such as Anna university coordinator, placement coordinator and so on. He is student chapter coordinator for Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), PSGCT. He is ISO auditor for answer script auditing at PSGCT. He has involved in preparation of SAR for NBA accreditation towards both UG and PG programmes. He has delivered more than 20 keynote lectures in FDP, Training programmes, workshop, seminar organised by various institutions in and around TamilNadu. He is reviewer in reputed journals of Elsevier, Sage and Springer publications. He is guest editor and editorial board member in reputed journals in field of civil engineering. Currently working in the following research areas: Engineered Cementitious composite, nano-silica based mortar and concrete, graphene based mortar and concrete, various optimization techniques, microstructure of construction materials, Fibre reinforced hollow concrete blocks. J. Paulo Davim is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He is also distinguished as honorary professor in several universities/colleges/institutes in China, India and Spain. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (materials and manufacturing processes), Mechanical Engineering degree (5 years), from the University of Porto (FEUP), the Aggregate title (Full Habilitation) from the University of Coimbra and the D.Sc. (Higher Doctorate) from London Metropolitan University. He is Senior Chartered Engineer by the Portuguese Institution of Engineers with an MBA and Specialist titles in Engineering and Industrial Management as well as in Metrology. He is also Eur Ing by Engineers Europe FEANI-Brussels and Fellow (FIET) of IET-London. He has more than 35 years of teaching and research experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, with special emphasis in Machining & Tribology. He has also interest in Management, Engineering Education and Higher Education for Sustainability. He has guided large numbers of postdoc, Ph.D. and master’s students as well as has coordinated and participated in several financed research projects. He has received several scientific awards and honors. He has worked as evaluator of projects for ERC-European Research Council and other international research agencies as well as examiner of Ph.D. thesis for many universities in different countries. He is the Editor in Chief of several international journals, Guest Editor of journals, books Editor, book Series Editor and Scientific Advisory for many international journals and conferences.
