Reviews

'Passionate aging' moves beyond the one-sided representation of aging people as being weak and vulnerable towards a positive outlook on growing older. This involves diversifying societal images, finding purpose and meaning in life, and creating environments that reinforce meaningful roles in later life, as exemplified by initiatives such as age-friendly cities. With the testimonials and multidisciplinary overview of scientific insights, a helpful guide for all who are interested in aging populations. Prof. Dr. Tineke A. Abma Leiden University Medical Centre, Netherlands
