OverviewThe monograph New Home offers a focused insight into the recent practice of Yesim Akdeniz. Published on the occasion of her comprehensive exhibition at Galerie der Stadt Backnang, it brings together a foreword by Martin Schick, a text by Ela Atakan and a two-part interview with the artist conducted by Yekhan Pinarligil. Covering the past five years of her work, the book traces the ways in which themes of migration, identity, and cultural codes are transformed within Yesim Akdeniz's artistic language. Designed by Ulas Ugur, the publication itself becomes a reflection of the artists approach: its special folding cover and dual attached parts echo the layered structures present in her works. More than a catalogue, New Home is a document of dialogue and thought, situating Yesim Akdeniz's recent production within a broader conversation on art, history, and belonging.
