Dr. Buddhadev Purohit is currently a Biodesign Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where he works at the intersection of bioengineering, nanotechnology, and translational diagnostics. He has 7+ years interdisciplinary research experience in development of electrochemical sensors, optical biosensors, and advanced medical diagnostic platforms. He has obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, and completed his postdoctoral training at Technical University of Denmark. He has published 30+ articles/book chapters, and one edited book in Springer Nature. Prof. Pranjal Chandra is currently Head and an Associate Professor at the School of Biochemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India. He earned his Ph.D. from Pusan National University, South Korea, and did postdoctoral training at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel. With over 15 years of professional experience, he focuses on interdisciplinary research in biotechnology, nanobiosensors, and biochemical diagnostics. His group has designed several commercially viable biosensing prototypes that can be operated for onsite analysis for diverse applications. He has two international patents (South Korea), four national patents granted, and several others in processing and has authored more than 200 journal articles/invited chapters in top-tier journals/books. He has published more than 20 books on various aspects of biosensors/diagnostics/material engineering from IET London, Springer Nature, and CRC Press USA, and many books are in press/under preparation. Chandra's work has been greatly highlighted/featured in over 450 news agencies/media outlets globally. He is an associate editor/editorial board member of various international journals, including Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, ACS Chemical and Biomedical Imaging, Scientific Reports, Sensors International, Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Molecules, Frontiers in Sensors, and Green Analytical Chemistry. Prof. Chandra is the recipient of many prestigious awards, coveted honors, and fellowships, including the elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India (FNASc); elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, London (FRSB); Associate fellow of Indian National Science Academy (INSA); Fellow of Indian Chemical Society (FICS); Prof. B.K.
