Table of ContentsReviewsMukki and Lallo's Rainbow Adventure: the Colors of Friendship is a refreshingly original picture book, with both unique art and poetic metaphor that will expand readers' vocabularies. The characters Mukki and Lallo both have their charms: the more traditionally cute Lallo will appeal to many, while Mukki's many limbs and many teeth will be loved by those who prefer more off-beat designs (though this ""forest dinosaur"" always comes across as friendly and strange rather than scary!). The black-backed pages convey Mukki's world to the reader while also making the bursts of color in the illustrations sing. Children are likely to encounter many new words while reading this book. While older children will likely have an easier time using context clues to understand words such as ""abashed"" or ""fazed,"" younger children could benefit from reading together the first time to help guide them through new words and ideas. Mukki and Lallo's Rainbow Adventure could be extended into lessons and conversations about metaphor, senses, friendship, how we see the world, among other things. I predict that my young library patrons will be asking for more from Mukki and Lallo soon!- Rachel Stephenson, Librarian, MLIS""Mukki and Lallo's Rainbow adventure is not only an entertaining kids book, but also makes you think as an adult. The story has so many elements that kids will enjoy. From the illustrations to the different characters being presented. But what got me invested as an adult is it made me think about the different angles of the story. One in particular is about being lonely and unable to see all of the amazing things that are around. I read this as a blind individual who couldn't see the wonders of the world but thanks to a friend is able to experience the beauty of the world with vivid description. Overall, the book is one that stuck with me, making me re-think areas and to me, that is how I know it is a great story.""-Kristian James, Author of Numerous Children's Books Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
