Descriptions were vivid and evocative. Always happy the author has a last chapter to finish tying up all the loose ends. It makes sense the writer is also a painter because she is wonderful at creating atmosphere with her descriptions of the hotel and nature. I was a little wary of the description and indeed our first glimpses of Mia where she came across as a spoiled, rich lady who arranges everything to her liking. But I discovered that while she is rich and she does get involved, she does so with generosity, good instinct and smarts. She cooperates with the police and doesn't do anything shady or illegal (like so many other amateur sleuths do). She doesn't wander around foolishly and get herself in trouble. Instead she talks to people and takes care of them and yes, she solves the mystery. This is well written and a robust and interesting book and definitely upper tier cozy.""
