Now, in Misfits Further Abroad: People and Adventures Around the World, author Martine Robinson Beachboard embarks on adventures farther abroad and further afield. Author Information

The author has always been fascinated by languages, cultures, and travel. She has lived or visited in forty countries and served as a Fulbright Scholar in Kosovo. In her first career, she was a newspaper editor. Her weekly personal column developed a loyal following and evoked a range of reader responses and emotions.Ms. Beachboard was awarded first place in column writing from the Arizona Press Club. Her editing was recognized with top honors four times by Arizona Press Women. A Penney-Missouri Newspaper Awards competition named her a finalist in single-story reporting.Early in her journalism career, Martine learned that everyone had a story. With increased interviewing experience, she realized that everyone was a story. When life and work took her overseas, she continued writing about the surprising situations and quirky characters she en-countered there.Her first collection of people stories was released in book form by Livingwell Publications as Misfits Abroad: Adventures in Love, Language, and Foreign Lands in 2024. While its vignettes centered on Europe, her second work, Misfits Further Abroad: People and Adventures Around the World, takes readers to Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.A former professor, Martine Robinson Beachboard is a teacher of English as a Second Language and a reading tutor for primary-school children.
