OverviewIn Magicaleidoscope, the thrilling second volume of Christian Carvajal's spacefaring ROCK STARS trilogy, Khutulun ""Calamity"" Khan has been recruited as a singer for The Force, a band steeped in the prog and arena rock of the late 20th century. Thrust into the depths of interstellar adventure, she finds herself dealing with overnight stardom, alien encounters and corporate greed as she and her eclectic bandmates - a sarcastic AI drummer, a homesick cephalopod keyboardist, a cheerfully narcotized guitarist and England's most pedantic bassist - take their first voyage into a universe both exciting and unforgiving. Manipulated by the enigmatic Praduan Domain and a devious humanoid, The Force will reckon with profound questions about agency, personhood and the irreversible cost of progress. As the stakes rise and her life hangs in the balance, Calamity must find her own voice - in song, yes, but also in the narrative of the universe itself. Will she fulfill her cosmic destiny or get lost in the void? Join The Force on a thrilling ride through a richly imagined universe of discovery, music and mystery that will resonate with readers as it carries them toward The Force's final crescendo.
