Jane has some ideas about how to dress and what to wear and that means JEANS! So, when her mother suggests she wear a frilly dress to visit her Grandma, Jane must think quick. You can't climb a tree in a dress, or ride a skateboard in a dress, she pleads. Mom gently reminds Jane that she is loved, no matter what she wears. She is much more than her clothes. Jane's scruffy little dog has his own idea of what to do with a pair of jeans and provides a surprise happy ending, that will keep kids smiling and reinforce Mom's valuable lesson. When Jane discovers that her little dog has chewed up her brand new jeans, she doesn't get angry, but finds a way to turn the ripped jeans into something new and beautiful. Author Information

Janice Garden Macdonald is the author and illustrator of 10 children's books and one adult title. She worked in the publishing industry for many years as a representative, library consultant and bookstore manager. She is the recipient of a dozen writing awards in different genres including the Zoetrope short fiction award judged by Joyce Carol Oats and the Moondance Film Festival award for an animated screenplay.During her time as a bookstore owner, specializing in children's books, she discovered her love of writing and illustration.She currently lives in Ontario with her husband and dog, Rufus, where they oversee a wetland conservation area.
