OverviewWhy are we discussing a Constitution as the Basis of Interstellar Law? We discuss these issues because the presence of an interplanetary and interstellar sanctioned agreement will help prevent unilateral laws or, indeed, power, being imposed on the space community. However, we must realise that space parties will, as they develop, grow and mature, at the least adjusting the context of this Constitutional Basis to fit their specific needs. And looking beyond, as we move interstellar, the principles of law from a Federation of Planets covering several solar systems will become the new law.
