Author Information

Belinda Brown grew up in Dayton, Ohio, with her parents and five older siblings. Her mom had another son when she was fourteenand never hid that from her children. Her mother had come home from school to find that her son had disappeared without a trace. She would not see him again until he was sixty years old. Belinda began writing in high school. She won a prize for her poem,""Pregnant at Seventeen."" Belinda moved to California in her twenties, where she married and had three daughters, and two children she lost. She abruptly moved back to Dayton, Ohio, and soon after her dad passed away she began writing again, which led her to her fi rst book, Educate Your Mind, Not Your Behind, a title that came from something her dad used to say. Belinda then found out that she would soon lose her mother the same way she lost her father, to cancer. Before her mother passed away, she conditioned Belinda to write again, but this time it would be her mom's story. A story many didn't know about and others had hidden in the nape of their subconscious. The truth lay in her mother's bedroom as secrets began to unfold. She soon found herself going through grief again, but this time with conditions. As her mom lay there taking her last breaths, she looked up at her and told her she loved her, and to tell her story. After learning the truth from her mother about the events surrounding her as a child, Belinda wrote her mother's story, Internal Betrayal. The book is based upon true events where family secrets are revealed, motives are unmasked, and internal reconciliation begins.
