The focus of his recent research work has been on Smart Cities, Blockchain applications, forecasting for supply chain networks and optimal algorithms for congestion pricing. Don has presented his research at several national conferences such as the Transportation Research Board (TRB). He co-authored a book chapter in Managing Supply Chain Risk and Vulnerability (Springer 2009) and several articles on supply chain forecasting and optimization. He previously served as a Data Science professor at Northwestern University and at the Florida Institute of Technology in Transportation and Logistics for over 10 years, in addition he worked in industry at, Institute for Defense Analysis, Lockheed Martin, and AVIS. Since starting his career as an Electrical Engineer in the Defense Department he progressed professionally to the Transportation and Analytics field, where he has worked, taught and researched for over 20 years, gaining a multidisciplinary background which he leverages across industries. Don completed the BS degree at University of Florida, MS degree in Operations Research at Columbia University and the Ph.D. degree in Transportation at the University of Central Florida.
