Love is the glue that holds everything together, the secret sauce that makes life's adventure worth living. But what exactly is it? I find I'm barely at the threshold of understanding love. We are told, and I've experienced, that God is love. This simple but overwhelming statement is found in most religions, and when one first encounters this love, it's overwhelming. It's a feeling that you recognize as being fully accepted and cared for, followed by indescribable peace and joy. In the New Testament, we find a perfect description: ""Love is patient and kind, not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude; it does not insist on its own way. Love isn't irritable or resentful and does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth; it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends."" Knowing this, I would add that love is surrender. Surrendering to the other, always seeking the tender shoot of love in everyone we encounter
