Author Information

Dr. Gyani Jail Singh is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna. With a specialization in structural engineering, his academic journey spans a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from IET Lucknow, followed by an M.Tech. and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. His doctoral research focused on the “Shear Lag Phenomenon in High-Rise Structures,” a niche but critical area in structural mechanics. Since joining NIT Patna in 2018, Dr. Singh has brought a dynamic blend of academic rigor and practical insight to his teaching and research. His previous academic roles at NIT Raipur and JUIT Waknaghat provided him with a strong foundation in pedagogy and student mentorship. At NIT Patna, he teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses while supervising a significant number of M.Tech. and Ph.D. scholars.  Dr. Govind Mohan is currently serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna, Bihar. With a strong academic background and a growing body of research, he is actively contributing to the field of structural engineering, particularly in the study of the dynamic behavior of cracked concrete structures. Dr. Mohan began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Civil Engineering from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, graduating in 2013. Driven by a keen interest in structural Engineering, he pursued higher studies and completed his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Structural Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur in 2017. Dr. Kumar Neeraj Jha is a distinguished professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, renowned for his expertise in construction project management, construction technology, and infrastructure development. His career began at Larsen & Toubro Ltd., where he played a pivotal role in executing several nationally significant construction projects. This industry experience laid a robust foundation for his subsequent academic pursuits. At IIT Delhi, Dr. Jha has made substantial contributions to both academia and industry. Dr. Jha’s commitment to education is evident in his mentorship of numerous postgraduate students, having supervised over 100 M.Tech. Theses and 30 doctoral dissertations. His teaching portfolio encompasses a range of courses in construction technology and management, and he has been instrumental in conducting training programs for industry professionals, thereby bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application. Dr. Chandra S. Putcha is a distinguished academic and researcher in civil engineering, with over four decades of experience spanning academia, government, and industry. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur in 1975, following which he embarked on a career that has bridged continents and disciplines. Dr. Putcha is a professor emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where he served from 1981 to 2023. During his tenure, he held key leadership roles, including Department Chair, and was honored with the prestigious ""Outstanding Professor"" award—the first engineering faculty member to receive this accolade since its inception at CSUF. His dedication to teaching, research, and mentoring has left an enduring legacy at the institution. His research has significantly advanced the fields of reliability analysis, risk assessment, and structural safety, with notable applications in aerospace, defense, and infrastructure engineering.
