Author Information

Sam McCarter's teaching career spans a period of more than 30 years, starting in Sierra Leone in West Africa as a volunteer. He has taught a wide range of subjects covering IELTS, Latin, basic literacy, academic English and ESP, specializing in teaching English for Medical Purposes (EMP) and English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) in the medical field. Norman Whitby has an MA in TEFL from the University of Reading and the RSA Diploma. He taught in Italy for eleven years before moving to Egypt in 1997. He returned to the UK in 2001 and since then he has worked largely as a trainer for IELTS and business English and as a materials writer. He currently lives in North London.
