Prasad is a distinguished physicist, philanthropist, and bestselling author whose career spans academia, advanced research, and humanitarian service. Born in New Delhi, India, Dr. Prasad moved to the United States in 1982 to pursue graduate studies at Yale University, where he earned an MS, MPhil, and PhD in Engineering and Applied Science after completing a BSc (Hons) in Physics from St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi.Dr. Prasad began his professional journey as a research scientist in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yale University (1986-1989), conducting pioneering work on understanding turbulence in fluid flows. He went on to hold several key research positions in California, including physicist III at Physics International in San Leandro (1989-1991), senior physicist at Science Research Laboratory in Alameda (1991-1994), and principal scientist at Alameda Applied Sciences Inc. (1994-2001). From 2001 to 2018, he served as senior physicist and manager at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, contributing to national research and technological innovation in the area of nuclear fusion.In 2019, Dr. Prasad transitioned from scientific research to focus on philanthropy and global development.
