High Level Geometric Patterns in Islamic Architecture

Overview

High-Level Geometric Patterns in Islamic Architecture is a comprehensive study exploring the structural diversity, technical depth, and drawing methods of the most intricate geometric patterns found in Islamic art. Edited by Serap Ekizler Snmez, with a foreword by Jay Bonner, the book brings together internationally recognized experts with profound knowledge in the field: Alan Adams, Ameet Hindocha, Daud Sutton, Goossen Karssenberg, Islam Farid, Rajen Astho, Reinout Engel, Richard Henry, and Saeid Shakouri. By examining complex examples of geometric design in Islamic art, this work reveals step by step how these patterns were constructed and the underlying logic that governs their geometry. Each contributor presents their own working methods and drawing processes, shedding light on the technical and intellectual layers of a knowledge tradition passed down through the centuries. High-Level Geometric Patterns in Islamic Architecture stands as a pioneering reference for researchers, artists, and designers who seek to understand geometry as a language of design, combining technical depth with an international perspective.
