Author Information

Eoin Mclaughlin is a bestselling children's author. The Hug was his first book. It was named a 'Book of the Year' by The Guardian and has been translated into over 25 languages. It was awarded a D&AD Pencil. Before becoming an author Eoin was a creative director at Channel 4, where he once had to bake cookies for the Cookie Monster. They must be 10cm wide and have precisely six chocolate chips. His films have been shown at the Cannes Film Festival and are held in the permanent collection at MOMA. Originally from New Ross, in Ireland. He now lives in Mauritius. Morag Hood is an award-winning children's book author and illustrator from Edinburgh.She has an MA in Children's Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art and a BA in Costume Design from Wimbledon College of Art. She used to work in theatre, but now spends her days in her Edinburgh studio with views of the hills. She wrote and illustrated Colin and Lee, Carrot and Pea, I am Bat, The Steves, Brenda the Sheep amongst many other picture books.
