William  Balée　　　 ProfessorTulane University, USA Field of Study: Cultural anthropology; Amazonia; historical ecology; ethnobiology Prof. Balée received his PhD from Columbia University in 1984. He has conducted fieldwork among Ka'apor, Guajá, Araweté, Tembé, Assurini do Xingu, and Sirionó societies.
