Author Information

Professor Panagiotis Vlamos is the Chairman of the University Research Center of the Ionian University and Director of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology (BiHELab) of the Ionian University. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the University of Athens and obtained his Doctorate in Mathematics from the National Technical University of Athens. He has received many awards and has authored more than 250 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, as well as 16 educational books. BiHELab's goal is to help bridge the translation gap from data to models and from models to drug discovery and personalized therapy, promoting collaborations and developing novel approaches to biological and clinical problems, using high-performance computational methods. Professor Panagiotis Vlamos is a pioneer at the evaluation, improvement and application of digital and computational biomarkers, while he first introduced the notion of meta-biomarkers.
