Gallagher: The Fall and Rise of Oasis: the brand new biography of one of the world's biggest bands

Overview

'Brilliant...an absolute classic' Paul Ross 'Harrison usefully tracks the brothers' post-Oasis careers and the toxifying feud between them' Ludovic Hunter Tilney, Financial Times 'Harrison...goes further than most in getting to the core of who the Gallaghers are' Shaun Curran, TheiPaper *** BONDED BY MUSIC. BROKEN BY EACH OTHER. BACK WHERE THEY BELONG. THE SUPERSONIC STORY OF TWO BROTHERS WHO REWROTE HISTORY. GALLAGHER chronicles the fall and rise again of one of the world's biggest bands: Oasis. With a focus on Noel and Liam Gallagher's individual journeys, this absorbing biography starts from the shattered remnants of Oasis in 2009, taking fans through 15 years of high and lows as the brothers become formidable solo artists. PJ Harrison, a former label owner and artist manager (but above all Oasis fan) who spent time on the road and in the studio with them, takes fans inside the world of Oasis. Drawing on meticulous research and exclusive interviews, Harrison explores how two brothers from a Manchester council estate became the defining musical force of their generation, and why their legacies endure. With a foreword by legendary Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham, this account sheds new light on fame, family, feuds and an unthinkable reunion.

Author Information

""Definitely Maybe"" changed PJ Harrison's life. Originally from Merseyside, PJ became a huge fan of Oasis and travelled to watch their concerts throughout his teens, often arriving as early as 9am to stand in line so he could watch from at the very front. In his twenties, PJ began to work in the music industry, firstly with his own Sony JV record label (in the same group as Oasis' Creation Records) before moving into major label artist management, writing and production. PJ's world began to overlap with that of Oasis. The band took a shine to several artists he managed and took them, and PJ with them, on world tours. During this period of touring Harrison spent almost every day around the band and their crew, getting to know their management and developed friendly relationships with the band. PJ has had a diverse career in the entertainment industry, spanning music, television, sports and creative direction. In music, he has worked with world renowned artists, such as Nas and Lauryn Hill, and has served as a writer, director and host for television. With a keen interest in sports, he co-founded LA football club City of Angels as well as Block Training alongside NBA legend Steve Nash. PJ lives in London. This is his first book.
